We have a symbol ls2208 hand held barcode reader connected to our PC via a Synapse wedge. The scanner will scan correctly for numerous times, then receive 4 beeps. The documentation says this is due to a communication error and needs to be programmed. We have checked all the options, and this only happens after numerous scans. It does not "seem" to be due to speed or number of scans. Once we recieve the error beeps it can take some time to clear up, as if this were an memory problem. We have quite a few of these scanners deployed from an earlier manufacturing lot with no problems. Only the new manufactured scanners seems to be experiencing this problem. Symbol states there has been no modifications to this model. Has anyone experience this before?

Thanks,
Greg
