Symbol Fonts in PDF File

Hello- I have a PDF that has font symbols in the body of the document. These are a small medal and a flag and are webdings.

For the life of me, I can't seem to find a way to copy and paste these symbols from the body of the document to the header.

The desktop publishing software I use to the document allows only text in the header so I can't initially add in the symbols there- but it allows it in the body of the document. I tried saving the text in rich text format separately and then distilling and pasting in but not much better.

You have answered your own question by stating the software you use doesn't allow the special characters to be used in the header. If your software will not let you type the special characters into the header in the first place then there is no way to get them into the header.
