Symbol 3840 Handheld Data Collection Unit

We are in the process of purchasing several of these 3840 units. I'm curious if anyone else is using them and if they are reliable? Does anyone know of some reference material for them? I'm needing to know how many characters (width and height) the screens are. Any pdf files would be helpful!
