Symantec Firewall does not recognize NIC card

I have a PowerEdge 600SC with the following:

Windows 2000 SP4
Intel Pro/1000 MT NIC

The network card works because I can get out to the Internet and do Windows updates and surf web. When I install the Symantec Firewall V 7.04, it will not see the network card.

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong?

I answered my own question. The NIC card needed an IP addressed assigned to it before the firewall software would recognize.
