I have two offices connected via cable modem with a site to site VPN provided by Symantec Enterprise edition firewall. I have a Level 3 tech at Avaya telling me the IP403 will not work across that VPN due to Symantec problems. Does anyone else have this issue? Any Solutions?

Not that I tried, but I would be interested in knowing what Tier 3 says about the Symantec.

I normally uses Cisco routers - Sorry.

Do they know which port is blocking communications, or it so happens the Symantec unit is using the same port(s) as the IPO?

look forward to your feedback.

This has been an on-going problem for over 6 months now. The final result with Avaya was to send them the IPO configs from both sides of the network and let them plug them in on their network. Their results were that it worked, so the conclusion was that it is my firewall.
I have heard rumors from other IPO business partners that the IPO is technically not compatible over a NAT'd network (ie. cable modems). My VPN is a true site to site VPN so all ports are open, I don't understand your last statement about the IPO and Firewall using the same ports.?.

Check out the following thread. My sales manager set this up for our remote office a couple of monthes ago, maybe it'll help you out. I know it deals with IP Hard phones, however it should still be the same concept. (Via a VPN Trunk in the IPO)

Hope it helps
