We are running SAV Enterprise version 8 on a Windows 2000 server. This server is used only to host our Symantec Server.

I have noticed some services running that I am not sure are required by Symanetc Enterprise. They are:

World Wide Web Publishing, FTP Publishing and IIS Admin, UMS HTTPServ

Does anyone know if these are to be started and automatic? If I stop the services will the client's definitions still be able to get pushed out?

Thanks in advance.

Deanna

If you are only using the server to run the management for symantec corp. antivirus then you don't need to have those services running if you don't want them to be. However, if you are using the server for any other functions I would be wary of what services you are stopping.
