We are using Symantec corp 9 on about 400 PC's and i've found it to be great. The only problem i'm having is that it's really slowing down about 30 PC's that are of a lower spec than the others, i've put them into a separate group and am thinking about setting the Heuristics to a lower setting (currently default).

Can anyone tell me if this will provide any sort of performance increase or make other suggestions for lightening the load on these PC's?

Cheers.

Try setting realtime protection to "modified" instead of "accessed or modified."

Thanks I'll give that a try, does that only scan the file when it is created or if it is modified as well? The description in the console is misleading.

Is there a page on Symantecs website that will give a more detailed description of what protection 'Minimum' 'Default' and 'Maximum' give on the heuristics settings?

I've looked but there seems to be no quick explanation.

Cheers.
