On the server performing the backup, I have the stores checked and GRT. I'm getting an error due to the GRT:

Finance-LMFJ Custom Backup Policy-Daily Backup -- The job failed with the following error: To support individual mailbox message and folder restores from Information Store backups, you must download and install the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects package version 06.05.7888 or later on the Exchange 2007 server. This package can be found on the Microsoft web site.

I have the MAPI & CDO 1.2.1 installed on the server and this message remains. Anybody crossed this road by chance?

Did you install the Exchange Management console on the backup server?

Davetoo - negative. Didn't know I needed to but I can/will!

Yeah...you have to install it...and here's the sucky part...you have to install the 32 bit version which I bet you don't have! I had to download the 32 bit version of E2K7 SP1 just for that...

...unless your backup server is running on a 64 bit of course...

Davetoo - I've not installed it yet on my backup server but I do have it downloaded since I installed the management console on my management desktop. I'll install it on my backup server later this week during my downtime window.

Also...you have to be sure you give the Backup Exec user a mailbox, and rights as an Exchange Admin as well if you're going to try to backup and be able to restore individual emails from users folders.
