Anybody using Symantec Anti-virus (corporate/enterprise versions) on Windows 2008 server. What version of the client seems to be stable?

Mark

anybody using the 64bit edition of the client?

When I launch the client, it shows Win 64, when I look in task manager, it says *32.

Just bombed on uninstalling, client is installed BUT no longer have the option to uninstall.

Any thoughts (other than manual removal?)

Agree with BridgeRe, it is stable

It is normal for it it to run in the 32 bit space, as Symantec has a hard time programming 64 bit; they are to busy pumping out java code for Endpoint (with plenty of problems). Symantec is really getting sloppy it can't uninstall itself
Try the Microsoft uninstaller

If this does not work, I have gone into the registry, searched on Symantec, carefully deleted most entries, other then legacy entries. After this you need to search the server directories for any Symantec folders relating to Symantec AV, and delete them.

Don't forget to exclude some or all of the folders below if you have Active Directory.
Some of the folder exclusions I have in place for a mix of server 2008 and 2000....
