Hi Everyone

I am upgrading to Symantec AV corporate edition 10.0.1000. I have upgraded and tried a complete reinstall of the software. The upgrade or reinstall works fine however when i try access the servers via the SSC i recieve the following error:

("Can't communicate with the Server Group. Verify Network Connectivity and that machines are operating within the Group! If problem persists, try clearing the Server Group cache and re-discovering all Server Groups")

I have also followed numerous articles including "2005052814162048" and "2005051209365248" and "2005082415100448" from symantec with no luck. I am upgrade version 9.0.338 on windows 2000 server with sp4.

I upgraded 2 server out of 10 successfully. the other i have had to roll back to version 9. It seems that on the other servers that it also does not create the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LanDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\ScSComms\LocalData\LoginCaCertIssueSerialNum.

Please help if possible.

I found the problem. Stupidity on my part. The routers were not allowing the TCP port traffic through on port 38293. Version 10 uses TCP port 38293 instead of UDP port 38293. once i removed the ACL lists on the routers it resolved the problems. I was then able to create the certificates from the console when trying to open the servers.
