Hi,

I've a Symantec antivirus server which is configured to push the Symantec corporate edition 8.0 to the desktops and servers. I want to configure a slave server to the master and want to locate the slave behind the firewall. The slave needs to get the updates from the Master through checkpoint 1.0 firewall. Does anyone knows what ports need to be opened on the firewall?

From document ID 2002091816450048 of Symantec's site:

Intel PDS listens on port 38293

The SAVRoam service used by roaming clients connects to the server on port 1056.

RTVScan makes a request to Winsock for port 2967 for IP and port 33345 for IPX... ...If the request for the static port fails, then RTVScan will use a dynamic port

Msgsys (AMS) communications uses port 38037 and 38292 for both TCP and UDP

Good Luck.

Finally I can reply, I thought I'd never succeed.
I wanted to post this message somewhere where it's not so offtopic but failed..

I've got a problem, W32.pinfi is on my computer and I can't get rid of it! I tried disabling systemrestore, scanning in savemode, tried to locate the register value PINF but can't find it.

Over 1200 files where infected, Norton repaired them all but this is tricky, when Norton finds the virus itself it can't delete it or what so ever.
Everytime I start scanning again some other .exe files are infected and need to be repaired.

The virus hides somewhere in the register, I looked but cannot find the file..

Who helps a guy from Holland out??

Have you searched through Symantec's site to see if they have a stand-alone removal tool for that virus? Chances are they do.

thanx I finally got rid of it, however Norton keeps saying that I need to pay attention to my system.
