symantec 200R - problem with PPPoE

I have some connection problems with a 200R and I hope someone can help out here.

Normally for PPPoE the logon negotiation of a 200R goes through several stages:

PPPoE Discovery
Send PADI
Received PADO
Send PADR
Received PADS
Successful
PPP link success

When I start or re-start the 200R it goes through this cycle to logon. When the connection stops the 200R is not able to re-logon. The follow is what I get when the 200R tries to re-connect:

PPPoE Discovery
Send PADI
Received PADO
Successful
and then it goes back to PPPoE discovery again and this loop can go on for hours

I already replaced the 200R as I thought it was an hardware problem, but also the 2nd appliance has this problem.

Has anyone seen this before? Perhaps on a different router?

Any explanations? According to the ISP the line is ok. They did however confirmed that they used to have some authentication problems, but these are solved now.
