Hi
Ok, the issue is I brought in a server and a few client machines from a company we acquired after shutting down the redundant office.
I put the new server housing SBT (I know nothing about SBT) on our network and also one of their old client machines, figuring that since nothing really change between the two machine that it would work when it got to this end. I made the appropriate IP changes and what not. But I cannot get the client to connect to SBT I get an error about the SYCCACC is missing.

I have read to delete all of the *.MEM file, does this mean every *.MEM file from the machine or just the ones in the Pro 30 directory?
No changes were made to the drive maps or anything else other then the IP scheme.

Any help would be great, this seems to be the only place to find any info and help on SBT on the web.

Thanks in advance for your help

I read the thread below but it didn't really help.

SBT uses named drives so if this was originally on C and you put it on F you will get that issue.

SBT runs in VFP (Visual FoxPRO) so that has to be installed. I think even in that old edition you will need to run workgroup install or get an appropriate copy of VFP.

Hi Bill and thank you for the response.

I did run the workgroup install on one work station hoping that that would fix it but it didn't and I have not changed any of the mappings, so that is the part that is confusing me.

The only thing that has really changed between these three machines is there physical location and the IP Scheme to match my network.

Hi KBlessing...

Basically, SBT is a network-based accounting system and do not requires you to setup a workgroup or a domain. Any of this network configuration is enough to make sbt system working. just make it sure that the your sbt server(location of sbt system in your network) is visible.

The file that missing (syccacc.dbf) is one of the dbf loaded in the system every time you wanted to make access in sbt system. I believe this file is not remove on your sbt active directory (the pro50 of sbt engine). Assuming you have sbt system file in "q:\pro50" and datafile in "t:\pro50"...

Please make sure to synchronize the ff:

1. Check the properties of the icon of sbt system(The one you click to open sbt, maybe on desktop or program file of your operating system).

TARGET : Q:\PRO50\SBTW.EXE
START IN : Q:\PRO50

Please note the ff:

1. folder or directory of q:\pro50 is the location folder where your system files such as the sbtw.exe, SYCCACC.DBF, syccomp.dbf, sycdata.dbf and more are EXIST. If these files are in other folder, please have it named to the correct directory. My sample is at "Q:\PRO50"

2. My sample datafile of sbt at "T:\PRO50" is the directory where you will find the \ARDATA, \APDATA, SODATA.... But pls dont confuse of this "T:\pro50". I just emphasizing the details of my sample datafile but nothing to do with your problem.

The "SYCCACC missing" error is always a network drive mapping problem. Correct the mapping and this problem is solved.

All workstations must be mapped to the server in EXACTLY the same way. Same letter and same path. Compare the drive letter mapping on the faulty workstation to one where SBT/ACCPAC/Sage Pro runs correctly. Compare the shortcuts that call Pro. I am 99% certain they are different. Correct the mapping and pathing on the the faulty workstation and Pro will run.

syccacc is usually a mapping issue but not always. I've seen the FXP version corrupted and once in a great while deleted. If it is mapping a lot more will be missing. There is also the problem that once an error occurs SBT starts throwing errors left an right that go away if you fix the first one.

The SYCCACC error is the first error one sees when mapping is incorrect. If the FXP were bad, everyone running Sage Pro would get the error, not just one user.

Its actually a mapping problem... Even the administrator gives a correct network map of SBT System in their workstations but as long as the SBT short cut are not synchronize with SBT directory, SBT will always detect a an incorrect network map...

If everyone is running SBT out of a network directory then everyone gets the same error but a rare setup would have the code on each machine. Always a bad idea, but I've seen it. Usually in Vision Point. If the databases are pathed right then only some of the sys tables show bad data.
