Can any one help me!!

We had a backup (dump) of Phoenix on tape.
On loading , we found that the backup had been deleted.
How do i recreate the data via the previous day's backup with the transaction log ???

cheers

I guess I am confused.
An AIX Dump is not a backup of your system. It is a moment in time ...
what was in the kernel when it crashed? When you get the 888 and
then it crashes, you are prompted to put in a tape if there is not enough
room in /var/adm/ras.....but that data is used to find out why it crashed,
not to recover your data....If you have a backup from the previous night,
that is all that you can use to recover your data.... Perhaps you are
doing some special sybase backup? Perhaps there is a way to recover
from their transaction logs and their backup....but if it is only an AIX dump.
which was created when it crashed......you cannot?
Here are docs on the AIX dump:

Hopefully it is a Sybase backup with its transaction logs and someone
with Sybase experience can help you.......Sorry
