Installed Ghost Corp. V8 and continually get the 08001 Sybase ODBC error. Went to the Symantec site and followed their instructions to eliminate this error message and it still occurs. Can anyone provide a solution to this?

Running XP Pro SP2

It appears that the Sybase ODBC drivers were not located in the
Environmental Path, once the location of the drivers were added to the
path string, I was able to connect with no problems.

found the above GOOGLING...

so check the location of the said files, either copy them to the correct directory or add the path...

Thanks for the info. How do I find the Sybase drivers and I assume you mean copy them to the Ghost folder. What do you mean by add the path? Please confirm

NO...

What do you mean by add the path?
RIGHT CLICK My Workplace, Properties, Expanded (or Extended, sorry I am working on a non-english version of XP), then click the LEFT BOTTOM Radio Button...

A new window appears, the bottom half contains the PATH Variable...

there you add the PATH to the SYBASE DRIVERS by double clicking add it (the path ie. %SYBASE%\odbc ) at the end and hit return...

More info:
The SYODASE.DLL gets registered in the registry, under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI
under "Sybase ASE ODBC Driver". Here the "Driver" attribute indicates
the path.

is usually the location for TDS based driver, the
3.70.0020 GA version (you
may need to add a patch).

%SYBASE%\ODBC-3_5 was the location for the CTLIB based driver.
Installing 12.5 would update
the registry so that SYODASE.DLL in %SYBASE%\odbc would become the
system's SYBASE ASE

and on Google:
you may find more information...

SQL is not my forte, so I wont be able to assist further than the above...
