Hi,

I'm new to sybase and want to restore a sybase 10 DB in sybase 11.

Could someone please guide me through this like if I was a four-year-old? (Or point me to a doc that does the same.)

Currently I have backed up my the DB in question and moved it to the 11-server, but when I try to restore it nothing happens. Doens't even get an error message - nothing.

Needing help,

hello,

if you are going from 10.X adaptive server anywhere (asa) to 11.X asa... i do not have a solution... perhaps other dba's in this forum have encountered the same issue...

but, if you are switching from system 10.X adaptive server anywhere to 11.X adaptive server enterprise, you would need to migrate your data... and follow the migration plan set by sybase.... since you are a programmer you can easily write migration scripts for your data, data objects, etc...

sybase uses the perl language in their sample migrations...

here's the website:

if this url does not work, go to and run a search on migration...
