I have a question about adding a user in sybase ASE 11.9.2 and giving them only read/select rights to accessing tables. The way our current database is setup on Solaris 5.8 OS, is all users are in the "public" group and I have tried to add a new user to only have select/read rights not be able to have all rights. So, I created another user group but I am having trouble assigning that user only select/read privleges. Inside isql 1>grant select to (group or username) 2> go. I get syntax error around to, does anybody have any ideas? I am not a sybase expert, can anyone give me some helpful tips?

Thanks,

Paul
