I am trying to delete an extension from Multiline Set Assignment Form. I delete the line (ESC-6); then hit ESC-4 / ESC-1. The system responds "References exist in the Page Group form". I printed out all instances of the Page Group Form and that extension does not exist in any Page Groups. Any suggestions?

Open the Change Attribute Assignment Form and go to the specific extn (recall) then scroll to the bottom of it (down to the area where you can see what page groups are assigned)

If the CH A form is clear then your problem is most likely database corruption. To check, run a DBMS CHECK FULL (takes a while) and wait for the results. If there are ANY errors found you will have do perform a data save and data restore procedure to solve the database problems first.

Aaargh!!! You nailed it! Again.

DBMS CHECK shows 1 table error. So, I just do DATA SAVE to an RSD; followed by a DATA RESTORE from the same RSD? That simple? How much system downtime is involved?

By the way, I was able to delete the problem extension, even though Change Attribute showed no Page Groups. I added the extension to a Page Group, then deleted it from the Page Group; then I added a free DN to Multiline Set Assignment, then deleted the free DN from Multiline Set Assignment. I was then able to delete the offending extension. Go figure.

Just read through my old notes: Standard procedure for recovering from corruption of DB; 15 minutes downtime. Thanks.

Be sure to follow the instructions in the tech handbook. Recovering from a corrupted database is not child's play.

MIMB, you were right, it was a job and a half. Especially during the upgrade to LW 34.5.2.3 when the password I had was reported as wrong. It seems some predecessor did an update and never put the latest MOSS in the cabinet. Had to wait till next day to call Mitel.

Now, on our redundant system, we have a clean database (only minimal manual data entry was required) and the very latest obsolete software.

Next, upgrade our single system at HQ to LW34.5.2.3.

Thanks for all your help over the years.
