The attendants that man the operator console where our main line comes in tell me that if they don't use the phone for about 20 minutes it switches to night mode automatically. We generally just stay in day mode 24 hours a day. I was looking through the cos for a setting that would cause that but I didn't see anything. I checked "programmed service display" and there are no scheduled changes. Does anyone have any ideas about what would cause that?

If the attendant unplugs their handset (or the connection is intermittent) the console will go into 'operator absent' mode. If there is only one console being used, the console going into 'operator absent' mode will cause the system to go into night service.

Check your SOFTWARE logs. Do a search for DEPARTMENT 0 (zero) - this will tell you when it's occurring.

There us a COS timer as well. The name escapes me, but it's at the bottom of the list....with all the timers!

Static electricity can be doing it. especially if the operators wear a headset. There is a Attendant timeout timer that can be set to 1440 to disable.
