Hi
Can anyone help? I had errors on my harddrive and what it is Ive formatted the harddrive of an SX2000 with out checking the existing backup which Ive found out is now faulty.
The system is still running from the RAM but i know if I reset it il lose the lot. Sysuser has been dismounted so I can't do a datasave back up. Ive managed to do a DBMS save to RSD but unsure what ive actually got there. There is also a backup from 2002 but when mounting is says read only so dont know if this will handle a restore. Does anyone know of anyway to save the database from the RAM to a new RSD?

If you have a redundant system, you could try partitioning the system blanking the inactive partition and doing a dbms download of your dbms backup on RSD. Then see if your database is intact on the inactive partition. Also, even with your sysuser unmounted, you should still be able to mount your rsd and datasave to it.

The reason your old backup says it is read only likely is due to being older software. If you reformat it with the scratch parameter, it will then be a writeable RSD again.
