Is this supported anymore as a new solution?

SX2000 -> ApSu -> 6100 [CCM]

Or will the customer need to purchase a 3300 to run the ACD side of things instead?

Thanks.

The APSU has been MD'd for quite some time now. The 3300 does the job without requiring the APSU.

More info = better advice [ponder]

Its OK - I thought as much, Just going to tell them to dig deeper into their pockets!

Its a fully clustered TDM site so they will have to jump the boat into IP soon enough.

The 2K is still a better platform for redundancy. If redundancy is not imperative then upgrade the call control to a 3300. The 3300 will still support the TDM infrastructure. The DB migration is fairly painless if you use a migration tool

I have advised this, I have been on a few sites which have this setup. However I think they would be most likely purchase a 3300 to house the ACD agents whilst also using it to link to a site which they have Cisco - IP Trunking?

We're linking to both a Cisco CM and an Etrali turret system using Q.SIG trunks from the 3300. Works well in fact. (E1 Q.sig to the Etrali)

We're also doing CCM-BE with a small call center on a clustered SX2K, but without an APSU.

Indeed if truly needed, as kwbMitel says, the 3300 is definitely the way to go, if only to move the call center onto it and cluster it with the 2K, add a dual FIM module to it along with a peripheral can and a DSU can and continue using your existing TDM phones (400 and 4000 series).

You don't have to cluster, but if you already have OPS MAN & Enterprise manager I would definitely do it. (it will work fine standalone, however)

Hi,

That is how the existing setup is working [albeit without ACD and CCM]. Qsig trunks connect to the Cisco CM via PRI.

If they got a 3300 then they would want to get an IP link setup to the Cisco. Would that be possible.

I take it your CCM is not running Mitai with the absence of the ApSu?

I'm thinking you'd need to do SIP trunking to the Cisco to get away from the TDM trunks. Never tried it tho and have no intention. It ain't broke and the Qsig trunks aren't costing me a dime to run across 80' of cat5 from one side of the room to another. :)

I'm also not yet sold on SIP. Seems to me there's still too many interoperational issues between competing PBX platforms. It's worth looking into for PSTN & IXC trunking to the major carriers to get away from the facilities charges, but not with G.711 unless you've got a boatload of cheap, high quality, QOS-protected bandwidth that's costing you less than the required number of PRI trunks you're replacing. PRI is cheap these days. G.729 makes SIP trunks cost-effective, but at the expense of listening to gripes from "high maintenance" users you'd just as soon not hear gripes from.

When you're trying to give the customer the full benefit of a Gucci phone system, it's important to keep your eye on the ball & avoid temptation to use duct tape trunking. Too often the buffalo winds up kicking you when you squeeze it unnecessarily.

You're correct, no Mitai. It's today only a 2 seat ACD (down from original 5) that's costing 100X more in resources & SW licensing & PC & server lease to continue operating than its usefulness. On a busy week They're handling 70~80 calls a week(!!) with 98% idle & 2 full-time salaries plus a manager. In-freakin'-credible!!

Guys, can you clarify what you mean by "no MiTai".

If you mean interactive call control via the 6115 module, the 3300 handles this internally without the Apsu.
