Please Help!!
Working on an old SX-2000 light with Superset 4's. When my Active Voice system (voice mail) sends notification to a phone that there is a message waiting, instead of getting 1 MSG Waiting on the lcd display, I get "MSG" in the upper right hand corner of the display. When you check the MSG button on the phone it indicates no "call back" or "msg" and the station cant clear the MSG in the upper right hand corner, it can be cleared from the operatore console . Sending messages from phone to phone works fine. Any hints would be appriciated

Sounds like the voicemail system is using "Dialed Message Waiting" and not "Callback" messages. Sounds like normal behaviour to me (especially on old software).

Thanks MitelTech for the quick response, Yes the voice mail, goes off hook and dials #71,xxxx to activate and and #72xx to de actiate message waiting. It has bee doing this since day one. The station normally gets 1 msg waiting across the screen
all of a sudden its stopped. Something tells me that there is a limit to the number of msg that can be sent through the system , but I cant find it

Max MSG WAIT is in the MFRD, usually around 500 active lamps. Ummm, is the port that is setting message waiting in the voicemail hunt group AND has a COS that has perm. DND enabled?

I HAVE AN 8 PORT VOICEMAIL SYSTEM, EXTENSION 7101 TO 7108
EXT 7108 SETS THE MESSAGES IT IS NOT IN THE VOICEMAIL HUNT GROUP, AND HAS IS OWN DEDICATED COS WITH DND AN DND PERMENTATE
ACTIVATED "YES

PUT EXT 7108 INTO THE HUNT GROUP AND TESTED, NOW EVERTHING SEEMS TO BE BACK TO NORMAL THANKS

Yes, the voicemail message waiting port (unless you are doing strict "dialed message waiting") needs to be in the voicemail hunt group (and the hunt group type MUST be "voicemail") for callback messaging to work properly (as you can see).
