I have been unable to get any output files. I know I did in the past. We have no printer on the SX2000 and never printed hard copy - only to a file. Somehow, we used to be able to get the output from FOrmprint into files. We could then import the files into Excel or whatever. I know how to "print to file" on any computer. I just don't know print to a file from the SX2000.

From my laptop, using PCAnywhere, I connect to a 'server' that runs Procomm Plus and dials into Maint Port on the SX2000. If necessary, I can physically visit both the intermediate 'server' and the SX2000.

When formprint executes, does it create a file on the SX2000? How do I copy that file off of the SX2000?

Thanks again.

command

formprint multiline set assignmet /port lpr3

Then you have to issue an enable pri /non

have procomm ready to recieve the file as raw ascii

Thanks M1tel. Yeah, I got it printing to the screen alright. I had to "Disable Host Printing". There was a previous thread as well that reminded me of this. Printing to screen will have to do.

But, I do remember we used to get a prompt for a file name on the host PC and the output went to the file. I don't know what the original installer did to get that, but I will live with what I have now, I guess.

Thanks again.
