Hi all,

I have an isue with a user that is not being found in the system when using "dial by name".
We dial into our company's main number and choose "9" to get a company directory, then choose dial by last name or by extension.
When using dial by last name the user is not found even with all letters entered?

I logged into the system and checked the phone directory, he is listed.
I can use the "phonebook" option on my telephone(SS420) and it searches and finds his name by using the keypad?

What else can I check - Moves and changes, another form?
What could be wrong?

Thanks for any hints or advice!

Well, you said that you logged into the system and checked the phone directory. Does that mean you logged into the SX-2000 phone system? The name you find there is the name associated with the extension/DN. That is the first problem.

When you call into the Auto Attendant, you are now connected to the VM system (Either Mitel Mail or NuPoint Mail). The option for press 9 for the dial by name is a function of the VM system, not the phone system. This means that the VM will reference the names associated with MAILBOXES with what ever is entered in as a dial by name entry. With this in mind, try checking the name that is programmed with the Mailbox for you user. I would bet it is incorrect.

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

You could have some other auto attendant/vmail system, rather then a Mitel branded product. But, if you do have a Nupoint/Mitelmail/Centigram, and it's not the mailbox name causing the issue, then it could be the users FCOS on the mailbox. It may not have the bits included to put that user in the DBN directory.

Thanks Paterson and MitelTech!

I'll check our Centigram voicemail - FCOS - I'm sure you are right.
