I have a customer that wants help with an old sx200 not sure what version but everything is in the black case with smoke glass cover that opens has pri card with LAN connection and Mitel messenger card with male 9pin serial connection. I tried to use LAN ip of 192.168.1.2 to connect to system but promblem is I can't get an ip from system or assign a static ip in my laptop to this subnet to even get close to log in as I do with sx200 ax controller. Any help?

You need to connect via rs232 to the maint port on the cabinet.

I did I did connect using putty com 3 for serial adaptor 9600 8n1. But got nothing but blank screen it was more like maybe a printer port male 9pin see picture below

I think this is an sx200 el so only ports I see are the 9 pin male on the express messenger card and LAN port on the pri card. Picture link on original post

It is hard to say, what cards does the grey cabinet have?

You need to look at the back of the cabinet

You will have 4 9pin ports there. You need to connect to the maintenance port

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

I seen j5 J6 and J7 near top but not any 9pins I will look again

Thanks

Where the rack is I could not see the 3 sets of 9pins but I'm sure it's good now as long as user or pw works
