Hi all,
I just got handed a new client (a hotel) that has regular analog phone extensions in every room. The hotel has 2 buildings that are separated just by a street. Their phone guy installed all the extensions on Mitels SX200FDs in each building. Each building has 10 regular phone lines going into it. From there, they are connected to a Mitel SX200 MX and each building has its own T1 connection and their provider does MPLS VPN between the 2 buildings.
Being a pure SIP VoIP guy, I can yank everything out, install an Asterisk PBX, put a SIP phone in every room, connect the 2 building with hogh gain WLAN antennae, pay one connection fee and call it a day. BUT, since they installed this system last year and paid a lot of money they cannot invest any more money on hardware.
Is it possible to interconnect the 2 Mitels FX200MXs over a regular LAN? Can anyone suggest a solution where I dont need to have 2 connections, and phone lines going to 2 different buildings?
Tahnks
