Customer has SX 200 lightware 15 software, Key voice corporate office DOS based VM
IM trying to set up ONS integration, have all the voice mail ports in a hunt group with ONS VM port's in a COS with ONS ,all the COS options that the manual specifies are correct

I'm is trying to set up abbreviated dial.

I have 777 (Vm hunt group)
*9 (pause)
Now it asks for digits that the VM is looking for, I cant find them in the VM manual) any ideas what to use?
*6
*9

When I do get the abbreviated dial digits together how do I reference them, so the calls are returned to vm and go to proper mailbox?

Do I have to call forward each extension, or is there some sort of global command I can use to call forward all ?

I tried to forward one extension and it wouldn't let me call forward to abreviated dail , I tried 63,4 (for busy /no answer) 71 (abbreviated dial access code) then 6 (index number)

acording to the manual abreviated dial is a valid destantion

I couldn't get past 7, 634 ,7 then fast busy.

I can use 634 and a valid extension number and the call forward works

second question do I need ONS cards for ons integgration to work ?

its a two cabinet system with one cabinet supporting the digital control cards and the second cabinet with all analog line and trunk cards , my VM ports are all anolog ones in the second cabinet

if not ons integration how can I integrate the vm ?

can you dial the abbreviated dial directly from the phone? If not check to see if the COS has abbreviated dial access enabled.

yes, I can dial it from the phone by dialing the 71(access code ) then 6 index number , just cant call forward to it

when I try call forwarding I do 63, 4 then 71,6 , after I dial the 7 it goes to fast busy .

isd that what I need to do for integration ?

So what you need to do is forward your sets BNA to a speed dial that has your integration string in it.

Now abbreviated dial is considred external for some reason so the COS for the set needs to have call forward external enabled and abbreviated dial access enabled if you want to program from the set. So then using your example the forwarding point would be 634716. You are better off using a 2 or 3 digit speed dial bin as you won't have dialing conflict timeouts then. For example, since you are using bin 6 and also have a bin 60 to 69 or 600, bin 6 will digit time out before it goes through.

You can also set call forwarding from the console and have it goe external with out the call forward options being enabled in the COS of the set.

Now as for the integration you have to do a little listen and writing. In order to figure out what you need in the string you will have to call the hunt group 777 and determin what digits you need to enter to leave a message in a mailbox. This will help you compose a string.

so, if you dial 777 then press * then the mailbox number your speed dial might look like this:

777*9***6*9. Remember that to tone out a * in a speed dial you need it twice. *9 is a one second pause. *6 is the forwarding extension number.

Now to retrieve messages you may need a different speed dial because the dialling sequence may be slightly different

Make sure that you have option 261 enabled on you VM COS.

Thanks mitelman

I couldnt find speed dial except for super sets , so Im guesing from your post that there is system speed dial available ?

so do I need the string both in abrevited dial and in system speed dial or is it a either or ?

and do I need to program Each station with the call forward or is there a global command somewhere to froward all ?

your dial string is just about what I have now current is 777*9*6*9 so Ill get some more stars in there

thanks again

I had everything correct except for the external forward option , when I added that to the COS It worked .

(dosnt make sense to me that abreviated dial would be considred external forwarding )

thanks again for your help

Since when is abreviated dial considered to be an external dial? If you had the a line access (i.e. 9), I could see that...
