I have a property that was hit with by lightning late last night. The superconsole will not power up and there are several ONS ports on various cards that are not working. I'm familiar with the 200 AX but not the MX. The console is completely dead. I tried plugging the console into a different digital phone jack and it powered up but the display had an error message.

I logged into the Maint port and checked the console. Its SW state is busied out. Its HW state is idle. I also tried returning the consoles port to service but discovered it can't be done.

According to the programming, the console is programmed on a port that is on the onboard ASU. Is there a way that I can reset this port?

Thanks

The port for the console has to be programmed for a console. Any digital port can be be set for console. The embedded main board handles 2 dnic sets and 2 ons. You can look in form 7 to see where the console is programmed and should see any port available. I would try and program another port and duplicate the console LDN's

jpruder, thanks for responding to my post.

The port the console is currently programmed and punched down on the 66 block is 1/13/02.

The rest of the ports in Form 7 are 2/2/4 - 2/2/12. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of those ports labeled on the blocks. So, I'd be able to move the console extension to another port but I don't know where I would need to punch it down on the 66 block.

I'm assuming the there is a per node attached and programmed as bay 2 and in the second slot is a digital card. If correct then 2/2/4 would be the 4th pair down from the top of the block connected to slot 1-2 cable

forgot to update my thread. jpruder, I followed your advice and it worked. The console is back up and working. Thank you so much.
