I have an extension programmed to forward ALWAYS to another extension. When calling the forwarded extension, it rings on the forwarded, GMs, phone. After x amount of time, it eventually covers back to the forwarded extensions voice mailbox. Is there a way for the call to cover to the GMs voice mailbox?

I'm thinking this a system parameter and that the answer is no.

Thanks

Assuming embedded vm

- Is there ever a point where you do not want the forwarding in place or is forwarding permanent?
- have you tried renumbering the forwarded extension to be *XXX where XXX is the GM's ext number?
- can you instead program it as a key line on the GM's phone instead of using forwarding?

My bad; yes it's embedded VM.

Yes
I was about to say yes but then re read your question. Renumber the forwarded extension where in CDE? In form 9>REVIEW?
That could work.

Thanks

It is hard to advise when I don't know the purpose that is being served.

Why is the call being terminated to a different station and forwarded? Knowing why can be be extremely helpful in finding solutions. In this case, you've already decided what the solution is and are looking to solve problems with your solution. Just how far down this rabbit hole we go is up to you.

Lol! This is what the customer has asked be done. The back office, forwarded phone, is currently not being manned. It's also out of site. They don't want calls being left in the back office mailbox. Funny, the more I type, the more I'm realizing what other options I can offer to the customer.

Apologies for wasting your time.

Solutions that come to mind

- Set station to different tenant to prevent routing to VM
- Optionally, with above set the VM busy/no answer routing to elsewhere
- Delete VM for back office so that when calls route they hit the auto-att
- Set the maximum msg's for the MB to Zero and record a greeting stating that the mailbox is no longer in use
- change the DN so that it can no longer be dialed
- change the routing on the DID (if exist) to terminate elsewhere
- Set the VM to email messages and delete

or forward to another station and figure out how to break integration and force the call into a different MB
