A customer has ordered new lines from us, but 4 of the 7 lines they currently have are Ground Start. We can only provide Loop Start trunks, and do not know whow to change the settings in their SX-50 to all be LS. Can someone please help me out. Ive found a crappy scanned copy/pdf that is the user guide, but I have not been able to find how to actually get into the programming mode to make the changes. There are 2 LS/GS cards in the last 2 slots of the system... if that helps.

The trunks in the last 2 slots are numbered 65-80

Command 565-580

Register 2G has the option for Grd vs Loop (0 = loop, 1 = Gnd)

You enter programming by pressing the function key and typing in the password (default is 7772)

Its a 1.5 hour drive, so I just want to be completely clear... First off THANK YOU! Secondly, is this how it will go... 1.Function and password. 2. Command (ie 565). 3 Register 2G and then 0? Is there a "confirmation button", or somthing like enter so that the change stays? You have no idea how much this will help already, I very much appreciate your correspondence!

The Password may be changed - no guarantees

The exact process escapes me but was fairly simple the last time I did this.

Another useful tidbit is the Direct Trunk Select = *19 + Trunk Number
Also Clearing Trunks alarms = *32 (I think)

As I pressed the Function button the screen on the console showed "Function ?", so i began to enter the 4 digit password, but after 2 digits the screen showed "Invalid". I then tried holding down the Function button while entering the code, but got the same result. What does that mean? Does it mean that there is no password, or that its been changed? I would allow me to enter in an option number like the *32 you mentioned, only I didnt need the *... the function button acted like the *. So I can get to the "FUNCTIONS", but that was pretty much all I could do... that and see the status by pressing the status button. If you have any further insight, its much appreciated, but if not thanks for helping me out with what you could.

Ok, I found my little pocket guide.

Not function key sorry. It's the Status Key

Press and hold the status key

Release Status Key
Press # or 70

Display will show
Command 100?

To exit programming mode press the release key
