SX-2000, LW 34.

We have 765 dorm rooms. Two users are reporting that their dorm room phone rings every afternoon at 2;30 pm and won’t go off. It beeps for couple of second and won’t stop for at least 3 minutes. This is happening every day at 2:30.

I am trying to solve this remotely as I am no where near the camp for a few weeks. I can access the SX-2000 over our LAN, but I cannot physically check the hardware. Analog phones.

Any ideas?

Not too sure yet... let's ask a bunch of questions to boil down the issue. [ponder]
OK
- These are plain old analog sets?
- If you pick up the phone when it's ringing, and listen is there any greeting -or- recording on the phone?
- If you pick up the ringing phone does it stop ringing in the other room?
- Are these two rooms the same extension, same ONS line card?
- Did this issue just start?
- When you pick up the ringing phone and set it back down does the ringing continue?

Kinda throwing this one out there. Is it possible that a wake up call has been set? Not too familiar with the 2k, but always at 2:30 should be pretty easy to find if the call is originating from the system.

If not a wake up, is it possible that an outside application is auto-dialing their phones?

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

Before the issue occurs, fwd the phone to a display set. If something is calling the phone then the display will say what is calling.

If a feature is active (wakeup) it will not forward.
