I have inherited 2x Cisco ASA5520s, and would like to use them on a small LAN on oneside, VPN'd to a HO network, without the need for a dedicated switch.

The internal LAN on one side literally has only 3 pc, i'd like to use GBit0/1 0/2 0/3 for the PCs and GBit0/0 to the DSL router.

Is this possible?

Transparent Firewalling only works on 2 Interfaces, I wondered if it could be kept at L3, and have 1 IP, but switch all 4 interfaces

Cheers

Negative, but if you send me one of those 5520s I will send you a 5505 which will function as you desire.

you can't <switchport access vlan <vlan#>> on those LAN interfaces?

I didn't try that one, after trying to define a VLAN with;

(Config)# Interface Vlan 100

but it errors, and only allows 'Interface GigabitEthernet0/#'

this pdf below, suggests you can set a VLAN like that in a 5505, however

but the 5520 doesn't seem to take it.

I'll try that line, but at the time I ignored it after the other didn't work.

Cheers
