Hello,

Awhile ago my company purchased a w2k server and 50 CAL. It's been a back burner project for a while and I'd like to transform our network from 50 computers on a workgroup, to the full blown domain. I have a good understanding of networking and am ready for the challenge but I don't have a really good Idea of how to proceed. Does anyone know of a faq or have some basic steps to follow?

General advice or mistakes to avoid are totally welecome. I have some 98, 2k, and 1 or 2 ME clients.

Thanks..

Mr. Blonde

First you have to decide if your going to run dhcp, wins, dns and active directory. To make the server a Domain Controller you type dcpromo from the command prompt. In order for Active Directory to work correctly, make sure dns is working first. It's needed for AD. Let us know what else you need to know. Good luck. Glen A. Johnson
