Hi,

We were thinking of adding another 4412LD+ console upstairs (at x130) then switching the Operator position between x100 and x130, depending on where I was working each day. Saw that the "CAS" operator is factory set to 768. How do I get in and change the "Dial 0 timeout" operator extension without tinkering with the CAS??

Also, the Tek-Tips gurus recently provided the procedure to have our AA1 pickup incoming calls right away, with it only ringing at Operator console if they dial 0. It works great, except I don't have a voicemail box set up for the operator x100 so if someone dials 0 and I'm in the ladies room it rings endlessly. If I set up a mailbox 100 will that interfere at all with the General Mailbox 9991 which is the Dial 0 Timeout recipient for the Night Menu??

Thanks!
Kerry

Just some thoughts on this subject, X130 would have to reside on the proper port (1st, 5th,13th ect...)depending on the system config. I don't run Call Accounting System (CAS) but I wouldn't think that would interfere with changing the dial zero time out. I set up 3 operators in a call group, point all the lines to the group, then have the operators log in and out to receive calls

Actually, CAS in this case is the Call Answer Service Operator in voice mail. Extension 768 is the factory setting and is simply routes calls to the first operator position on your switch. You can safely change that extension to whatever you're using that day. That way you don't have to worry about which port 130 is plugged into.
As to adding mailbox 100, that would catch missed calls in the daytime. Night calls would still route to the general mailbox (9991) unless you change the "dial zero time out" option in the night menu to "transfer to an extension" and make it 100 also.
If you'd like to know more, just ask.
