Switching dialing to pulse tone in XP

I am traveling in South America and my grandmother has a very old phone line which only works in pulse. I cannot figure out how to switch the modem dialing to pulse because it is only dialing in touch tone. The computer has windows XP Any information would be greatly appreciated.

in your control panel open "phone and modem options" click on "settings" on the first tab make sure you have the correct "location" selected. when this screen opens you will see the setting at the bottom. good luck!! "Jack of all trades. Master of none."
