A customer wants to remove their 408GS/LS ATL and replace it with a 408GS/LS MLX. Obviously replacing the phones with MLX sets at the same time. Other than doing a board renumber, are there any other considerations that I should know.
They have a legend 6.1, two cabints that are full.

Also, in the near future they will want to replace a 408GS/LS ATL with a 012MLX. Will removing the 408 screw up the line numbering? They are now only using a few analog lines, plus the one for paging. None of the lines they are using are on that 408.

The problem would be the location of the ATL board in the cabinet. If it is not already the last board, you're going to have a bunch of programming to do.

The reason is the adjunct extensions with the MLX's. When you replace the card and do the board renumber, the programming of the 1st ATL that you are replacing goes onto the 1st MLX, but the programming of the 2nd ATL goes onto the 1st Adjunct. So the programming of 16 stations gets sucked into the 8 station card. Everything else in the system gets sucked back by another 8 stations.

If you must do this, as opposed to adding a 3rd cabinet and PS, and simply putting the new card at the end, do a print all, and be ready to reprogram all the stations downstream of the new card.

I don't know of an 012MLX You must mean 016MLX. And Yes it will screw up your lines. I don't know about the ATL to MLX change, but it seems TTT does.

Ouch. Thats not what I wanted to hear. The boards are in the 1st 3 slots in a 2 cabinet system.

Yeah, you're right, It'a s 016MLX I don't know what I was thinking.

The 016MLX is not supported in RLS 6.1! Only 7.0 and Magix if I remember correctly....

So with 6.1 you can only use the 408GS/LS/MLX or 008MLX modules.

Hope this helps!
