Hi i recently switched from my old case to a newer case. I installed everything and got my computer up and running and then i noticed i have no sound. I reinstalled drivers, checked to see if anything was muted checked in my bios and it says my Onboard sound is on Auto; the only other option being disabled. My headset is plugged into the back correctly, this is just so frustrating. Any help please i cant take this anymore!!!i just want my sound back.

I have a AsusP4S800 Mobo-comes with a SoundMAX Digital Integrated.
The wierd thing is my microphone is working because when im talking to people on a 3rd party chat program they say they can hear me fine but its just i cant get any sound out.
Help PLEASE!!!

Check all your settings in control panel\sound, make sure "mute" is unchecked. Also check settings in the sound section on your system tray. There are quite a few settings there, make sure "mute" is not checked off. If that is not the problem then you can play with the settings there and you will likely find something that will take care of the problem, move sliders up and down, for instance.
Check all settings.
Make sure cables are connected correctly from speakers to the case.
What does dev mgr tell you about your sound?

There is the possibility that either a standoff or a hold down screw is grounding out a board trace carrying a signal.
Or an extra standoff under the board.

Usual step is to bring the M/B out to a sheet of cardboard for testing.
