i want to make a switchboard but i don't know how to start

There is a built-in Switchboard Manager you can use. Or you can start with a completely blank form and create your own by using the Wizards and adding command buttons to take you to the various forms which you want to open.

Take a look at the sample Northwind that comes with Access.

Under Tools, then Utilities, then Switchboard Manager. Click on it and follow the prompts.

i tried but when i want to run it it says that there is an error reading the switchboard items table

If you start a Switchboard from scratch, it builds the items table for you.
