Switch Unmanageable After Software Upgrade

I've been managing a Baystack 5510 using Nortel's Java Device Manager Software. After upgrading the software to version 4.2 I can no longer manage the switch using the Device Manager. The switch can only be managed when I telnet in.

Anyone know why the switch would be unmanageable using the software after the upgrade?

Thanks!

Hi,

Try using a newer JDM version. Possibly u r using an older version of Device Manager which is no more supported by the new software release on the 5510. Another thing could be that the snmp service is disabled after upgrading the switch.

Try JDM version 5.9.2.0 - that should work fine with that version of code.

Yup, in fact I believe you HAVE to use 5.9.2 JDM for 4.2...I believe that is the ONLY one that will work currently.

Thanks for the help. Ironically, when you go to the Nortel Site and view the product page for the 5510 and go to Downloads, the latest version of the JDM on that product page is an older version than 5.9.2.
