Greetings and salutations!
We want to be able to easily switch from front desk hotline to direct line out and back on any given extension.
I would think to set it up as a procomm script so someone other than i can do it AND have it switch back to hotline at a specific time, like 3 am, would work. it would have to use the directory number rather than TN for convenience.

I am open to any and all suggestions, recommendations and advice!

lets say we have an extension. when you pick up the handset it autodials the front desk (hotline).
I want to be able to shut that off so the party using that extension gets a dial tone, and can dial 9 and make a call local or ld.
I would like it to switch back to hotline automatically later in the day.
I would like it to be easy so anyone can do it, not just the pbx admin (me!)
IS this possible with procomm? or other means?

Nope, not possible without programming it. You can do some things with a Time of day controller but not Hotline

Okay, Thanks.

Is there a Procomm Script that would allow someone to do it easily? Using the DN of the extension?

The procomm script would need to change the CLS from MNL to TLD and remove the hotline destination etc and allow outgoing access. How many phones would need to be altered?.

sound like you need two scripts.

1. out existing TN & add a hotline

2. out existing TN & add a standard Extn

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Thank You All!
We are researching it further. The primary issue is that there are only 2 people here who can successfully use Procomm, myself and my supe.
If any of this switching has to be done when we are not here, it cant be done. I am looking at having front desk simply transfer to open trunk aka outside line.

More as it develops...

Well, I guess you could build 2 analog lines, 1 as hotline and 1 as not and put it on a toggle switch that anyone could flip.

Thank You,

The way the building is wired, there is a Second line into each location labeled DATA (no doubt for a modem or fax!). I tried tracing with a pinger tool, but no luck. Either they were never connected or were disconnected somewhere along the path.
