I'm running Micros 3700 ver 4.9. I currently have 3 WS4 terminals but I would like to swap them out to newer WS5A terminals. Is there anyone that could walk me through that process?

The process is pretty much the same no matter which workstation you use. I was going to type up all the instructions, but I found a site that has it already listed out with pictures. The only thing I don't see, is the CAL password formula. You might not need this if you wipe the compact flash, but in case you do here it is.

After opening configure CAL, you will see a six digit code displayed.
Do this math:
1*2+4+6

Example:
094396

0*9+3+6

You would type in 18.

Hope this helps.

Example:
094396

0*9+3+6

You would type in 18.

You would type in 9, no? (0*9=0)+3+6

Also, On your server go to \MICROS\Res\CAL\WS4\Files\CF\Micros\ETC\ and copy everything in there to \MICROS\Res\CAL\WS5\Files\CF\Micros\ETC\ and \MICROS\Res\CAL\WS5a\Files\CF\Micros\ETC\. That will load any SIM scripts onto the WS5 workstations.
