I got some used ITY-6D phones. Their admin password is not known. Seems like they came with the Standard SIP firmware, rather than the NEC Proprietary firmware installed on them. What is the procedure to load the Proprietary firmware back onto the phones?

I have IPPhoneManager. I have the firmware files. I can't get into the admin menu on the phone as I don't know the password. But, I fired up the IP Phone manager, and it finds the phones on the network.
- I select the phones.
- I select CONNECT. It works. The phones' status shows as OK.
- I select Download -> Execute
- On the next screen, I select Download File -> Boot&Program
- I put a checkmark to Std-SIP to NEC-SIP checkbox.

I click on execute and I get an immediate FAIL.

Things I'm not sure about is FTP or TFPT? For FTP it has a username and password. Should I change any of that?
Then it says "Directory: \" What directory is it pointing at? I tried moving the firmware file to c:\ and also to the folder from which I'm running IPPhonemanager
Should I be running an FTP server on that same laptop?

Am I even close? Or is the procedure completely different?

Ok seems like I solved it already. In IP phone manager, I was able to issue the factory reset command. That was successful. With that, I was able to log in to the admin menu on the phone itself, and tell it to download the firmware file from my ftp server, and it worked.
