Switch Client Between Networks

My workstation is an XPP client on a MS SBS2000 Server LAN. I want to be able to switch my client alternately to be a client (to do Remote Desktop) on other networks via dial-up (local modem on client or preferably modem sharing).
I don't want to re-boot or pull plugs out of walls etc.
Any advice please on how to accomplish this?
