We have situation where a few Https:// sites are accessed through Proxy1 and rest of the internet through Proxy2. Is there a way where one can switch easily between both the proxies? OS win XP Prof and IE6

Would an acceptable alternative be sending all https requests to one server, and all other requests to go to the other?

X

Proxy1 offers no connection to the internet so we still have to access other https: sites from Proxy2....

Well jeff, with the script ready, how does it work with IE6.X? the proxy is third party and i have only the Ip address for it.

Hi, go to tools/internet options/connexion/lan settings:

In the field "use automatic configuration script" type the URL for your .pac file:

internal web server/your pac file.pac

Hope this helps. Please let know if this resolve your issue

what if i dont have a webserver. Can i just place the file somewhere on a local drive and point to it?

Hi, no. Since the .pac is javascript, it must be served by a webserver in order to make sense.

If you have a proxy you have a webserver.

Hope this helps. Please let know if this resolve your issue
