How do I configure the interface between a 6000/6500 series switch and an access point. We are currently deploying Symbol access points in our wireless LAN and this would be my first time of doing it. I already have the idea about wireless LAN but I don’t have any background on how to integrate it with a VLAN. Is an access point works and configured same way with a switch?..

Is there a link out there that can teach me on how to do the stuffs.. I’ve tried the Symbol website and Cisco as well but I can’t find any technical docs I want for such purpose.

I really appreciate your help…

Chris.

The switch will work with the AP just like a hub. Plug it in (may need xover) and configure the port for a vlan & maybe the 'set port host macro'. Typically the only configuration AP's need is setting the SSID and for encryption (WEP, LEAP, etc).

Keep in mind that wireless is shared media and your speed will be no where near that of a switched port. (10b-T is actually around 4.3mbps typ)
