Hi All,

I am trying to configure seperate vlans on a 2950 and 1900 but I am having problems with the vlan command for 2950.

On 1900, I type

(config) vlan 2 name sales

..and it goes, but on 2950 if I type

(config) vlan 2

I get "incomplete command"

Please can anyone outline to me the commands to create new vlans on a 2950 and on what prompts.

Thanks a lot.

Chike.

On the 2950 try this:

Switch#vlan database
Switch(vlan)# vlan 2 name Sales
Vlan 2: added
Switch (vlan)exit

In vlan database mode, you must type in apply to save any changes you've made before you exit.

Experience is a tough teacher.
The test comes first, the lesson comes later...

Thanks jtphoneman and wabob. I already got it.

Thanks once again.

Chike.
