Swing application with javac and debug inf display? is it pos?

I want to write a java swing apllication that allows me to use a text field etc to write code and then run a command that links to javac, displaying the results in another text area. I do not know the syntax to run javac from inside an application and also to allow the information that javac produces to be displayed.

I dont require a full solution, any help would be brilliant. For starters I am not sure if this is possible, so if someone could let me know id appreciate it.

You can use runtime.exec(), catch the output from the buffers and display the results in a panel.
