I have opened an MS PowerPoint presentation in OpenOffice Impress so I can use their export tool to create an swf flash file as creating an MHT doesn't work well and makes the file nearly 20MB.

OK the swf file is only 3MB but the quality of the images are so appauling that the swf isn't usable.

I cannot find any way of setting some options for quality output, are there any?

Why is the swf result such poor quality and how do I improve it.

alternatively is there any way of embeding an MS PPT into a web page?

thanks

I've made up a test Impress file (in OOO 2.0) and exported it to SWF, and I don't get any image-quality problems. What do the pictures look like in Impress? What OOO version are you using?

I've dl'd the latest version of OO , 3 days ago (v2) and the images looks fine in MS PowerPoint but upon checking it would seem that when Impress imports the PPT it screws up the image quality, so I guess it's not the swf at fault but OpenOffice Impress PPT import.

So what now ?

Optimal solution solution is to change converter.

for example: Presentation To Video Converter

how do you mean? I have an MS powerpoint presentation, what can I do with this to acheive my goal?

As I understand you have bad quality converting powerpoint to swf. I use Presentation To Video Converter for such goal.

Where do I find that , I can't see it as a part of powerpoint, hence trying to convert it to OpenOffice.

Also what video type does it create and file size? is it feesable to create an image file of a presentation to facilitate online viewing?
