I'm using a swatch as a body filler but when I move the square the pattern moves? When I moved the square to a place I liked it its off the page, When I exported to PDF it only half the picture appears, I've tried to change the page center with the tool behind the hand (I can't remember the name) but I still get half a picture when I export it to PDF. my question is anyway I can stablize the swatch so I can move the square into the default page boundary? or Anyway I can move the page boundary so it exports correctly?
Thank you

Can u plase translate it to English ? :) ...........................Mtj

Okay I'm going to rephrase as best as I can...(Note the screenName)

I'm using Illustrator 9.
I'm working on a menu cover, and created a swatch for the background, at first I didn't like the way the pattern was postioned and moved the Menu border around until I found a place where I liked it (off of the allowable printable page). I'm fine till this point, but when I export it to PDF I only get part of the cover, so my question is the following

1. How do I keep the background design as is right now - if thats even possible?

2. How do re-postion the printable page so I can get a full PDF

3. Will this problem effect the EPS file when I go to print it?

Hope this is better?
Thank you

yes its more clear now.
I suppose that u created pattern and than u filled some object with it. Now you are chasing the object all around the screen to get the pattern in the right position am I right?
The solution is rather easy. Just place your object wherever you want to have it and fill it with your pattern. Now what are you going to do is transform "PATTERN ONLY".
U can apply all kinds of tranform like moving rotating scaling.....
Example: to move pattern, take selection tool, selct the object and click ENTER. In OPTIONS clear OBJECTS and check PATTERNS, check PREVIEW to see the results "live" and then just keep changing coordinates until u are satisfied.
When u are done, u have few options how to keep pattern unchanged.
With object selected go to OBJECT menu and click EXPAND...,check the FILLS in dialog box and enter. (This changes your fill into vectors+clipping path.)
Or from OBJECT menu select RASTERIZE (that makes from your object bitmap)
When the appearance of the object is expanded or rasterized it shouldnt print OK from eps.

good luck ...........................Mtj
