Swapping M7208 phones 1

Is it possible to swap M7208 phones for T7208 and T7316 phones without programming/changing any settings in the BCM? I'm assuming I would need to change something for the 8 to 16 button phones... would I need to delete/readd them, or can I make a settings change to keep things up and running?

just swap them! you may need to change some feature keys. That can be done directly from the telephone.

I don't have any M series phones but I thought the only difference between them and the T series was cosmetic. Different shape to the handset, for example. Is that not the case?
